POSITION TITLE: Food Service Manager

REPORTS TO: Food Service Director and/or Building Principal

LOCATION: Mexico High School

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Food Service Manager is responsible for monitoring the preparation, serving, and cleaning of meals for students and staff in a safe and efficient manner. This role includes maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas, following proper food safety and sanitation guidelines, and ensuring that all food is prepared and served according to established nutritional standards.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
  • Supervises the kitchen staff of the designated school.
  • Assigns duties to the food service workers in the designated kitchen.
  • Supervises food preparation.
  • Orders and checks in all food needed in the designated kitchen
  • Interact with staff, students, faculty, visitors, and co-workers in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Use techniques outlined in recipe or as instructed (chopping, dicing, mixing, slicing, etc.) to assist with food preparation.
  • Wash pots, pans, and other items using a dish machine or three (3) compartment sink.
  • Place the menu and a la carte foods on the serving line and assemble the appropriate serving utensils.
  • Monitor the temperature of food and beverage prior to service and report unsafe temperatures to the manager and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Serve food according to recipe portion or as instructed.
  • Disassemble serving line and clean serving area.
  • Discard or properly store left-over foods.
  • Sweep and mop floors.
  • Cashier:
    • Make deposits on student accounts, balance drawer and run report.
    • Send out charge notices once a week.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Report to work at scheduled time
  • Assist in unpacking boxes, stocking storeroom or coolers, pulling food items from storeroom and other inventory management duties as assigned.
  • Perform cleaning tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to all school district and building rules and regulations.
  • Utilize proper hand washing techniques.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and seminars as scheduled.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.
  • Some positions require special training for cashier duties.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 Month Employment

Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

Background clearance required; the results of which must be satisfactory to the District.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with

provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel.
