PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Hiring Range for this position is: $30.20-$37.75/Hourly This is classified as a Full-Time, Non-Exempt (hourly), Benefits Eligible position.
The selected candidate will be eligible to elect Medical Benefits as well as accrue paid time off and receive 11 paid holidays.

OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT The Support Specialist Executive in the Chief's Office provides high-level office and administrative support to law enforcement executives, senior leadership, and other department members. This critical role serves as a liaison between the department and key stakeholders, including the City Manager's Office, Mayor and Council's Office, and the City Attorney's Office.
This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, a high degree of professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
The position is directly supervised by the Manager of Executive Support in the Chief's Office. It is a fully in-person role, Monday through Friday, between regular business hours, with the possibility of a flexible schedule at the discretion of the supervisor.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Prepares, issues, and monitors departmental documents requiring technical and advanced knowledge of departmental functions
- Coordinates travel arrangements for Department personnel
- Processes Department personnel orders
- Administrative support to the Chiefs and Executive Staff
- Processes confidential information
- Maintains, tracks and reconciles monthly purchasing card transactions
- Takes, prepares and distributes minutes of meetings
- Schedules and maintains calendars of activities and meetings
- Schedules conference rooms
- Takes and transcribes dictation
- Develops and maintains complex record keeping and reporting systems
- Assists in researching, gathering, compiling and preparing a variety of materials for technical and analytical reports
- Receives and responds to requests for information including Council and Management requests
- Maintains, modifies, and updates database information for specialized departmental functions
- Assists in preparations for department special events
- Drafts, edits, proofreads and prepares correspondence
- Creates reports, graphs, and presentations, some of which may be confidential
- Provides additional complex administrative support
- Additional duties as assigned

Experience: - 3 years of executive level assistance experience including data entry and customer service experience
- Satisfactory completion of the previous progressions
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working in a judicial or law enforcement environment
Knowledge: - Advanced Microsoft Office Suite

Licenses and Certifications Required: - CCIC/NCIC Clearance
- Notary Certificate

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Occasional Standing/Walking- Occurs up to 31 minutes to 2.5 hours per shift
Essential Employees: When a local announcement of emergency or disaster is declared by the City, all City of Aurora employees may be required to work as essential personnel.
Physical Demands: - Medium work that involves moving no more than 40 pounds with or without assistance at a time
