Supply Chain Manager

Our client is heavily invested in the aerospace and automotive industries and they have an opening on their Indianapolis based team for a Supply Chain Manager to oversee procurement, shipping and receiving, and production planning.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the aerospace and/or automotive industries and will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective management of the supply chain.


Supply Chain Manager Key Responsibilities:


Procurement:




    • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.





    • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms.





    • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure quality and reliability.





    • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.



Shipping and Receiving:




    • Oversee the shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods.





    • Coordinate with logistics providers to optimize transportation costs and delivery schedules.





    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to shipping and receiving.





    • Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses.



Production Planning:




    • Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization.





    • Collaborate with production teams to ensure alignment of production schedules with supply chain activities.





    • Monitor production progress and adjust plans as necessary to address any issues or delays.





    • Analyze production data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions.



General Supply Chain Management:




    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all supply chain activities.





    • Implement and manage supply chain software systems to enhance efficiency and visibility.





    • Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals to achieve departmental goals.





    • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain performance.



Supply Chain Manager Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in the aerospace and/or automotive sectors.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement, logistics, and production planning processes.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
