Job Description: Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist - Logistics

Location: Houston, TX (9100 Emmott Road)

Duration: 12 Months (Contract)


About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development Specialist to oversee logistics suppliers, ensuring compliance with industrial excellence standards. This role involves driving supplier qualifications, audits, corrective actions, and performance improvements to enhance supply chain reliability and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Development & Compliance:

  • Lead supplier qualification processes, audits, and action plans for logistics partners (carriers, freight forwarders, distribution centers).
  • Monitor and improve supplier performance through data-driven metrics and regular reviews.

Non-Conformity Management:

  • Manage logistics process non-conformities by overseeing LCAF ticket resolution, ensuring timely closure and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal logistics teams to improve response rates and implement preventive measures.

Process Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, 6S) to optimize on-time delivery and reduce supply chain disruptions.
  • Analyze high-severity incidents, root causes, and implement corrective actions with suppliers.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Participate in business reviews with logistics partners to align on performance goals and expectations.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with operations, procurement, and quality teams to achieve organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, or a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of logistics processes (e.g., transportation, warehousing).
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification or equivalent audit experience.
  • Proven experience in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S).
