What will your role be?

As a Supplier Quality Assurance, you'll play a critical role in ensuring that supplier-provided materials and components meet all technical, regulatory, and quality requirements. You will be responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and improving supplier performance to ensure consistent product quality and supply chain reliability. Your focus will be on proactive risk management, supplier development, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires frequent engagement with suppliers and internal stakeholders-particularly in the area of superalloy structural casting-to ensure alignment with quality and operational standards.


Activities:

  • Conduct regular and ad hoc audits and inspections at supplier sites to ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and compliance requirements
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance through key metrics such as defect rates, delivery reliability, and corrective action responsiveness
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution of supplier-related quality issues, driving implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Develop and manage supplier quality recovery plans, working closely with internal and external teams to restore conformance
  • Document and report supplier performance findings, risk assessments, and quality notifications accurately and thoroughly
  • Serve as the primary quality liaison between the company and suppliers, maintaining an on-site presence at supplier facilities 2 - 3 days per week
  • Perform technical reviews of supplier processes, including manufacturing, inspection, and testing practices, to ensure conformity with customer and industry standards
  • Proactively identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to maintain supply continuity
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, production, and logistics teams to resolve supplier issues and align on quality expectations
  • Review and verify compliance of supplier equipment and processes with applicable standards and specifications
  • Support product launches, supplier onboarding, and qualification activities to ensure readiness and quality assurance from the outset
  • Remain flexible to take on additional duties or evolving responsibilities in line with organizational needs

What skills and qualifications are we looking for?

  • Associate degree or certification required; degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Supplier Quality Assurance, Supplier Development, or Quality Control role within manufacturing
  • Knowledge of NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) practices is highly beneficial
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier performance improvement and recovery planning
  • Familiarity with superalloy structural investment casting is strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a mechanical aptitude
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively across internal teams and with external suppliers
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly casting and forging
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to create detailed reports and manage data
  • Physically capable of performing inspections, including lifting up to 25 pounds and conducting visual evaluations
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25%, including regular travel to Portland, OR
