- Lead by example, with a positive outlook, through practice and work habit, a desire to follow all policies and procedures in the plant environment to develop and maintain a safe, efficient, high quality, low waste workplace and maximize the development of the personnel they lead.
- Demonstrate the ability to accomplish tasks through thoughtful delegation to others in the work group.
- Train, coach and enforce all company safety policies.
- Train personnel to operate, adjust, repair, and maintain the machinery, performing the most complex work with the assistance of maintenance personnel.
- Perform quality inspections periodically to ensure manufactured product meets standards.
- Complete all required checklists and paperwork for each shift.
- Provide feedback to the Plant Manager or Human Resources on the performance of the department and assist in performance reviews of the personnel they lead.
- Maintain attendance records in order to reconcile payroll information.
- Set print and gauge printers.
- Ensure weekly Behavioral Observations and Stop Cards are being completed consistently and correctly.
- Take initiative to continue to grow mechanical knowledge by volunteering for special projects.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed, including Saturdays and holidays.
- Ensure incoming shift comes into a clean work environment with equipment in good working order, even if this requires you to stay over past the end of your shift.
