Overview

Supervises pharmacy technician staff and workload in assigned, specialized shop/section of the department to ensure a safe and efficient operation.

Retirement: Employee contributions are vested immediately . Biweekly matching contribution of 50% on up to 4% of pay saved-for a maximum match of 2% of pay.

Paid Time Off: Paid time off is accrued per pay period based on hours worked. This includes six paid holidays.

Shift Differential: 10% evening, 20% night, and 15% weekend shift differentials when applicable.

Tuition Reimbursement: Up to $3,000 per year.

Responsibilities
  1. Coordinates and supervises the daily operations of pharmacy technician staff.
  2. In partnership with pharmacy manager, is accountable for the daily performance of medication preparation and dispensing activities.
  3. Monitors productivity, quality of work and completion of assignments.
  4. Ensures pharmacy work areas are appropriately maintained, medication distribution systems operate reliably and efficiently, and all legal and regulatory requirements for medication preparation and dispensing are continuously met.
  5. Recruits, orients, trains and evaluates pharmacy staff.
  6. Schedules staff and ensures appropriate staff coverage.
  7. Assists in the development and administration of departmental policies and procedures.
  8. Resolves operational and staff issues or conflicts.
  9. Works collaboratively with technicians to obtain suggestions and feedback on improving work processes.
  10. Oversees pharmacy staff development and promotes the advancement of pharmacy technician staff.
  11. Identifies areas where cost control and waste management practices would be effective, making recommendations and participating in process improvement.
  12. Participates in compliance and quality improvement activities of the department.
  13. Resolves customer complaints and works with staff to ensure excellent customer service.
  14. Perform the duties of the technician staff as needed.
  15. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of combined supervisory and technician experience in a pharmacy or the equivalent preferred.
  • Associates degree, or higher, in a management or health related field preferred.
  • Substantial knowledge of technician duties and demonstrated high level of precision, responsibility, efficiency, and judgment required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and possess the ability to set priorities and make critical decision.
  • Effective problem solving, and change management abilities desired.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as demonstrated interpersonal and team skills essential.

Required Licensure/Certifications

- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT and NH Board of Pharmacy) required. - BLS within 30 days of hire in the Retail or Specialty Pharmacy if required to administer immunizations
