SUMMARY Provides strategic leadership and hands-on support in the daily operations, design, implementation, and management of the division's technology department, ensuring seamless coordination and effective technology integration across the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assists with directing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the division's technology plans and programs.
- Assists with developing the technology budget.
- Assists with determining the needs assessment of administrative and educational technology.
- Maintains current knowledge of emerging technologies, hardware, and software applications relevant to K-12 education.
- Assists in coordinating with other agencies and vendors.
- Assists with directing the development and coordination of installation and use of local area networks.
- Provides leadership for collecting, organizing, and sharing information through technology.
- Provides technical direction for managing information systems within the organization through planning, training, and evaluation of technology as a tool.
- Assists in directing technical support.
- Assists with directing and coordinating the acquisition of software and hardware.
- Supervises, evaluates, and provides leadership for building a cohesive team within the technical staff.

- Strong knowledge of current and emerging technologies, hardware, and software applications.
- Knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, and service requirements of computers, servers, and auxiliary equipment.
- Knowledge of networking hardware, infrastructure requirements, and components of local and wide area networks.
- Knowledge of communication installations, capabilities, and limitations, and service requirements.
- Knowledge of cabling infrastructure and electronic components required for networking.
- Proven leadership experience in managing technology teams and initiatives.
- Strong background in Active Directory. Experience with Google Workspace is a plus.
- Must be an innovator.
- Proven leadership experience.
- Proven project management experience.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree (computer science, information systems, or a related field preferred).
Considerable experience managing information systems, including leadership in technology integration, training, and program development.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret education periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
