Supervisor of Retail and Attractions plays a vital role in creating memorable experiences for families through effective management of daily operations in retail and attractions. This leadership position is essential in fulfilling business objectives, guiding the team, and actively engaging with both guests and team members to elevate their experience while maximizing profitability.
Key Responsibilities: - Oversee daily operations of retail and attractions, including gift shops, arcades, and vending areas, ensuring adherence to lodge safety and service standards.
- Provide coaching, support, and recognition to team members, fostering a positive work environment.
- Champion company policies, collaborating with department and lodge leadership in performance management of the team.
- Address guest inquiries and concerns, escalating feedback to the appropriate leadership as necessary.
- Ensure timely communication and escalation of guest requests and issues to relevant departments.
- Participate in scheduling staff and managing labor effectively based on operational needs.
- Conduct daily team meetings to prioritize tasks and encourage open feedback from team members.
- Monitor team member performance, offering real-time feedback and coaching to enhance service levels.
- Ensure that all retail outlets and attractions are organized and fully stocked; uphold safety compliance standards.
- Assist in recruiting, selecting, and onboarding talent for retail and attractions.
- Collaborate with department leaders in developing action plans aimed at improving guest service and employee engagement.
- Participate in performance management processes, including employee reviews and conflict resolution.
- Maintain quality operations by ensuring excellent service, sufficient inventory, and timely equipment repairs.
- Contribute to creating and monitoring programs that ensure a safe facility compliant with all regulations.
- Follow all standard operating procedures related to the role.
Basic Qualifications: - High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in retail.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office; proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong customer service, conflict resolution, and team engagement skills.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Desired Qualifications: - Associate's degree or higher in hospitality or related field.
- Leadership experience in retail or hospitality settings.
- Prior experience in hotels, especially in large family-oriented resorts.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stretch, and twist as part of job duties.
