Theoretically, our new Construction Superintendent doesn't even exist.
How and where are we going to find someone who:
- Seems to have an inability or unwillingness to accept any job as "impossible," defining the word instead as "a series of smaller problems for us to solve."
- Runs toward challenges rather than shrinking from them-whether they're related to constructibility, schedule, budget, or personnel.
- Owns up to the implications of their decisions.
- Has proven that they can plan, lead, inspire, and manage construction teams and oversee all work with the highest possible quality levels and safety standards.
- Is comfortable interacting with clients, architects, designers, project managers, field crews, project engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and inspection authorities.
- Is a steady hand in the midst of the unknown or the never-been-done.
- Has a reverence for deadlines, developing and updating project schedules, daily logs, and meeting minutes.
- Is a stickler about making sure that all necessary equipment and materials are available to their teams at all times. Does not mind being referred to as a "stickler."
- Genuinely cares about their teams, their clients, the work, the planet, their pets (if any).
- Has an inordinate interest in design, construction, safety, scheduling, job site logistics, organizational tools, equipment, and manpower utilization.
- Can interpret and build according to drawings and specifications. In their sleep.
- Is willing to jump in and help with estimating and project development support, when needed.
- Has a good enough sense of humor to be drawn to a company that would run an ad like this. (Most of the people who were drawn here have been at Krekow Jennings for roughly a decade.)
