Be an Industrial construction superintendent for a Detroit-based Contractor that focuses on Industrial, Light Industrial, Automotive, and Commercial projects in the Detroit area. This Superintendent would be in charge of overseeing projects and be client facing with all subcontractors.

This Michigan based construction company is a leading General Contractor/Construction Manager established more than 50 years ago. They are a leader in the Michigan market with a track record of excellent clients and a strong pipeline of large & complex projects. The company prides itself on its family atmosphere and has established a fantastic company culture for all employees. They are currently seeking an experienced Superintendent to join the team to take on water treatment projects.

Description

  • Provide daily, on-site, project management and be responsible for all aspects of the project.
  • Negotiate all trade and vendor pricing per project to reach profitable agreements.
  • Determine needed site resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to
  • finish with attention to the project budget.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule all work on-site to ensure deadlines will be met.
  • Assist in ordering materials and supplies.
  • Schedule deliveries on-site.
  • Provide a daily client update including project progress report and photographs; keep a daily log of what took place on-site for each project.
  • Communicate with the client daily about the project and be prepared to answer their questions.
  • Award all trade contracts and allocate their responsibilities.
  • Communicate quality and performance standards to all trade contractors and vendors.
  • Strive for no-defect, no schedule delay construction.
  • Supervise the work of each project on-site and provide guidance as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards on the job site.
  • Create the Project Close Out binder.

Profile

  • 4+ years of experience as Construction Superintendent
  • Ground up experience is required
  • Experience with industrial & automotive projects is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Project & Procore is preferred
  • OSHA certified required
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Willing to learn & grow within the company
  • Track record of previous success within a reputable commercial GC
