Summary: Six Flags is seeking a skilled and hardworking leader to join our Maintenance leadership team. This person will lead a team of mechanics and mechanical leads in the safe maintenance of rides and attractions within the park.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the repair, inspection, installation, retrofitting, and troubleshooting of rides, vehicles, and attractions to ensure their safe and efficient operation.
- Ensure that specifications set by ride manufacturers and the State of Massachusetts are complied with and documented.
- Oversee inspection of rides and attractions, notifying appropriate Six Flags New England management and/or Engineering team of any and all hazards.
- Maintain all daily repair logs and ride journals using Maximo or the equivalent work order system. Ensure accuracy of maintenance performed.
- Conduct routine audits of rides, maintenance shops, and all areas under scope to ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Ensure all rides are clean and visually in compliance with manufacturers specifications, and the expectations of our guests and management team.
- Assist in ride evacuations as needed; requiring traversing ride lift hills in excess of 150 feet and safely assist guests down to the ride platform.
- Conduct winterization and winter maintenance of ride and attraction units, components, and structures.
- Manage, develop, and evaluate the performance of full-time and seasonal staff.
- Adhere to and enforce all Safety Standards, labor laws, and other Company policies and procedures.
- Serve as shift supervisor, Maintenance Duty Supervisor, and Park Duty Manager.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have 3-5 years of related experience and be able to work well in team environment.
- Must possess skills and proficient knowledge in four or more from the following: mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, automotive, welding/fabricate on and large engine repair.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot clearly, calmly and safely in the presence of guests, co-workers and park management in a fast-paced environment.
- Will be required to work various shifts as project and park needs dictate, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must possess a valid drivers license with a clear driving record.
- Must have tools and equipment to perform required duties and skills as defined above.
- Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the primary job duties, including climbing and working at heights up to and in excess of 150ft, ability to stand for long periods of time, climb stairs and ladders repeatedly, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and work overhead using both hands Must be able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain.
- Must possess the physical dexterity to operate hand tools and motor vehicles.
- Must possess strong safety sensitivity & ability to work with many different types of devices.
