Position Summary

Responsible for ensuring professional, appropriate, and ongoing case management of all shelter residents using the Trauma-Informed Care model and provides supervision of shelter staff as assigned.

Job Description

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
  • Four-year degree in social work, counseling, criminal justice, or related field required or at least 5 years of experience in related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory required.
  • Experience working in a residential setting preferred.
  • Maintain valid Ohio driver's license and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
  • Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Federal Bureau of Investigations).

Role and Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with the Director and Assistant Director to develop, implement, and evaluate the program goals and objectives, ensuring the quality of services delivered to the survivors and community through monitoring and supervision.
  • Provides confidential and trauma-informed support to survivors to include, but not limited to, case management, emotional support, crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, referrals, safety planning, and follow-up support as needed.
  • Participates in developing trauma-informed policies and procedures for survivors of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
  • Collaborates with shelter leadership to provide leadership of shelter operations and staff meetings, providing program updates and training opportunities.
  • Provides ongoing supervision and professional development to ensure shelter staff are meeting their goals and performance objectives.
  • Oversees shelter donations in regard to organizing, inventory, distributing, and communicating the current needs to the Assistant Director and/or Director.
  • Manages shelter staff scheduling to ensure proper coverage and support.
  • Ensures that data collection and required documentation are updated within given deadlines and information is accurately recorded.
  • Compiles stats as required by funding sources and agency requirements. Completes all grant and reporting requirements as requested.
  • Participates in on-call rotation.
  • Adheres to Service Excellence standards at all times.
  • Represent Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center by participating in community activities, coalitions, and taskforce groups as requested or assigned by supervisor.
  • Complies with agency policies and procedures, federal and state requirements, CARF standards and educational/certification/registry requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities (if applicable for the position)
  • Evening and Overnight Crisis Intervention Specialists.

  • Work environment: This position will be in a facility with victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. In addition to interaction with the survivors, the employee may have interactions with families of these individuals, the assailants, and law enforcement.

  • Full-time; 40-Hours
  • Evenings, weekends, and holiday availability
  • On-call rotation

Additional Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with diverse populations. Ability to model open communication, fair and equitable treatment, management of conflicts and work in team structure.
  • Computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word and Excel.
