JOB SUMMARY:
The Forest Home OJAI VALLEY Summer Resident Position is a summer live-on camp position with housing and meals provided. The position runs from the last week of May to mid-August. There are 6 available spots. The ideal candidate for this position can be described as follows:

We are located 15 minutes from some of best beaches in Southern California, surfing, body boarding, and beach days are not required, but highly encouraged.
Our summer residents will go through a summer staff curriculum that focus' on spiritual growth and professional development. Summer residents will grow spiritually and professionally during their time with us. They will be cross trained to serve in various departments on camp, although they will have a primary department a majority of the time.
This position exists to ensure guests groups experience excellent service during their time on our camp.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Possesses knowledge of and applies all information stated in the staff manuals
- Provides for the safety, care, nurturing, and supervision of each guest group
- Sets a personal example worthy of 'guests emulation
- Participates in all camp staff activities
- Demonstrate concern about the spiritual life of fellow staff
- Demonstrates a teachable spirit and attitude
- Maintains relationships with fellow staff throughout the week by spending appropriate time with each other
- Establishes friendly exchanges with guest group leaders and campers
- Demonstrates flexibility and customer service when serving in all capacities (hosting, recreation, food service, etc.)
- Maintains a positive attitude toward activities, staff, and guest groups
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to provide service with integrity
- Good verbal and written communication skills

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, which requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate office machines. Requires medium to heavy physical work; some lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 30 pounds. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers, as well as speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud at times.
