Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Prepares meals according to menus, standard recipes, USDA, CSDE and HHFKA guidelines.
  • Serves meals to students and staff according to USDA, CSDE and HHFKA guidelines.
  • Cleans and sanitizes kitchen and other food service areas.
  • Complete all assigned professional development trainings as assigned
  • Oversees the work of up to 8 cafeteria worker I team members; provides instruction and training; plans, assigns and reviews work; and maintains standards of federal and state regulations pertaining to Child Nutrition Program; ensures compliance with all health and sanitation requirements.
  • Prepares daily deposits and related paperwork. Prepares daily production order records, HACCP Logs and production schedules.
  • Orders food and supplies; takes and maintains inventory; receives and stocks deliveries; rotates foods according to requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Current Managers ServSafe Certification preferred but not required;
  • Applicable knowledge of all HACCP cafeteria criteria including but not limited to the completion of temperature logs, thermometer calibration, temperature requirements and all sanitation requirements.
  • Applicable knowledge of production record completion;
  • Applicable knowledge of the Middletown Public Schools Inventory
    Control Policy and Procedure
  • Applicable knowledge for operation of
    the POS cash register and reporting System;
  • Applicable knowledge for placing all food and paper product orders weekly; in accordance
    with the BOE/ Food Services Inventory Control Policy and Procedures;
  • Ability to follow USDA and CSDE meal pattern requirements for the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs
    including required serving sizes;
  • Ability to interact with children and adults in a pleasant, professional manner at all times;
  • Able to commit their attendance daily throughout the duration of the
    summer program as assigned;
  • Ability to lift multiple objects of 50 pounds for the duration of the scheduled shift;
  • Ability to tolerate hot temperatures/weather conditions while performing all required
    duties.

Salary: $25 Per Hour
