What You'll Gain:
  • Experience with NESC and Electrical Power Calculations
  • Collaborative interactions across disciplines (Substation Physical, Relay Settings, SCADA, and Civil Structural)

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Design substation protection and control drawing packages for electric power substations (12kV to 500kV) using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Create Relay One Line designs, Three Line AC schematics, and DC protection schematics.
  • Develop Control House layouts, communication and alarm schematics, and wiring designs.
  • Generate Bills of Materials in line with design criteria.
  • Support projects throughout their lifecycle, from scoping to final design and implementation.
  • Apply National Electrical Safety Code standards in your designs.
  • Ensure compliance with client-specific design standards.
  • Deliver designs and drafts using AutoCAD Electrical and provide markups for projects designed in other software.
What Makes You Stand Out:
  • Expertise in AutoCAD Electrical with SDS (Substation Design Suite).
  • An associate degree in engineering technology or drafting technology is preferred, though relevant experience will be considered.
  • 2+ years of substation protection and control design experience in the electric utility sector, using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Proficiency with SEL and GE protection and control relays.
  • Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to adapt and learn various design software programs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Prior Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience is a bonus.
  • Experience with document control software like Bentley Projectwise and Autodesk Vault is advantageous.
  • Stable high-speed internet connection of at least 100Mbps is required.
