We have an excellent permanent job opportunity for a Substance Misuse & Addictions Specialty Doctor to work for a private substance misuse service in London. This is a part-time role, where you will contribute to the service to ensure that service users consistently receive high-quality services that adhere to the best guidelines and achieve high professional standards.
Salary: £88,982.40 - £99,819.20
Position: Substance Misuse & Addictions Specialty Doctor
Hours: Part-time - 30 hours per week. Bi-Borough Service (22.5 hours per week) Southwark Service (7.5 hours per week)
Setting: Outpatient setting
Location: South London
For this role, you will be responsible for:
- Clinical Assessments: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and physical health assessments.
- Medical Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and correspondence.
- Collaborative Working: Liaise with GPs, adult mental health services, social services, and prison healthcare.
- Specialist Prescribing: Initiate and oversee prescribing regimes in line with national guidelines.
- Phlebotomy & BBV Support: Conduct tests as needed and support vaccination programs.
- Safe Titration: Work alongside the nursing team to ensure safe induction onto treatment.
- Multidisciplinary Team Meetings: Contribute to care planning, risk management, and integrated care pathways.

For this role, we're looking for someone who is:
- Medical Degree with completion of Basic Medical Training and Full GMC Registration with License to Practice.
- Experience in delivering evidence-based treatments for substance misuse.
- Strong knowledge of addiction psychiatry, harm reduction, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent clinical communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work autonomously and remain calm under pressure.
- A collaborative approach, working with a diverse range of partners and stakeholders.
