Job Description:
Subrogation Legal Assistant/Paralegal
Margolis Edelstein, a premier insurance defense firm, is seeking a Subrogation Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our Philadelphia team. This role will primarily support two busy partners who handle a high volume of subrogation matters. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in subrogation or plaintiff-side litigation, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage fast-moving deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests, and legal correspondence.
- Conduct corporate searches and perform legal research to support case strategy.
- Open new files and manage case documentation from inception to resolution.
- Maintain deadlines and ensure timely filings in fast-paced litigation.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation and case management.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files.
Qualifications:
- Experience in subrogation or plaintiff-side litigation preferred.
- 1-5 years of experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal e-filing procedures.
- Ability to handle multiple deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.
- Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Box, SurePoint, or Filevine is a plus.
