Job Location: University of Silicon Valley - San Jose, CA

Salary Range: $17.95 - $23.00 Hourly

Description Provides one-on-one instruction to Cogswell students to support student academic success. Aims to improve students' academic progress and overall university success.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or group tutoring for specific classes and their curriculum.
• Maintains a schedule of tutees and keeps in contact with them over meeting times and help needed.
• Maintains communication with the Dean of Students on the status of their sessions and their schedules
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education:

Minimum sophomore at the University of Silicon Valley.

Maintains a 3.00 GPA.

Have taken classes they tutor.

Has recommendations from instructors for classes they tutor.

Experience:

Interest/experience helping others, specifically in an academic capacity

Skills:

Informative and expert tutoring and professional lesson planning.

Maintaining a schedule.

Maintain regular communication with the manager and tutees.

Maintain regular communication with marketing and admissions.

Expert knowledge of subjects tutored and lesson plans taught at the library.

Working conditions

Tutoring work is on campus and either in the library or classroom, or occasionally in a studio or lab space. Requires use of computers, writing materials and audio equipment.

Physical requirements

Tutoring position requires the use of writing materials, computer software, and audio hardware and software.
