Job Summary
- Demonstrate leadership with overseeing day-to-day operations of the radio station including on-air shows and talent, events/remotes, equipment, organization of station
- Display an understanding of current tools and technology in the industry to train students for shows and podcasts including Board, Recording, WideOrbit, LIVE Copy, and other items as needed.
- Demonstrate an understanding of professional ethical principles and work ethically in pursuit of truth, accuracy, fairness, and diversity through regular and timely scheduling of the station.
- Display work ethic by ensuring shows and podcasts elements are inserted into the system in a timely manner, including Live Copy. Collaborate with General Manager and Operations Manager to conduct research and evaluate data to better the stations on air schedules.
- Think critically, creatively, and independently to develop ideas for programs and features that a station could produce. Develop a strategy and implement a proactive process for capturing customer online reviews. Monitor online ratings and respond accordingly.
- Monitor trends in Social Media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.
- Identify threats and opportunities in user generated content surrounding the business. Report notable threats to appropriate management.
- Analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the Social Media campaigns.
- Monitor effective benchmarks (best practices) for measuring the impact of Social Media campaigns. Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled in a minimum of five credit hours for summer or six credit hours for fall and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average.
- All students must have completed one or more of the following courses:
- In house WIT Training Course
- COMM 3351-Radio Program Production
- COMM-3352 Fundamentals of Television Production
- COMM-3353 Fundamentals of Film & Video Production
- COMM 4421-Radio Practicum
- COMM-3354 Digital Social Media & Society.
Preferred Qualifications
- Skilled with Adobe Audition
Physical Requirements
- Frequently moves Audio/Visual equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across campus for various classrooms and events needs
