OU Health Sciences Student Affairs is looking for a Student Program Coordinator to join our team. The Student Program Coordinator coordinates and oversees volunteer programs and events, fostering community engagement by building partnerships, organizing impactful opportunities, and enhancing the culture of service among students through continuous assessment and innovation. The Student Program Coordinator develops, coordinates, and enhances first-year programs and campus-wide initiatives to provide interdisciplinary experiences, foster community, and connect students with resources that support their successful transition and engagement. The coordinator will manage and coordinate comprehensive orientation programs and resources to support the transition of new and transfer students, collaborating with campus departments and colleges to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.

Duties:
  • Lead the development, coordination, and execution of HSC1 First-Year Programs, ensuring they provide a holistic, interdisciplinary experience for first-year students across all seven colleges including working with all academic colleges to plan presentation schedules.
  • Organize campus-wide events and communications that introduce first-year students to university resources and student services, with an emphasis on smooth transition and campus connection.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for first-year students, providing guidance on student services, campus resources, and fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Expand and enhance the existing HSC1 programs by identifying new opportunities to better serve first-year students and improve student engagement.
  • Build partnerships with campus departments to develop and promote events and services that enhance the first-year experience.
  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and implementation of student orientation programs, ensuring a smooth transition for new and transfer students from prospective to admitted status.
  • Collaborate with representatives from all seven colleges to develop a comprehensive orientation experience tailored to the diverse needs of incoming students.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive new student checklist, to streamline the transition from prospective to admitted student.
  • Manage and continuously update the orientation webpage, ensuring it serves as a comprehensive resource for new students and highlights important deadlines, services, and events.
  • Develop a Canvas course orientation in collaboration with Health Sciences Recruitment and Admissions.
  • Establish a schedule of start/welcome messages, coordinating all onboarding and welcome messaging for new students.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.
  • Act as a liaison to departments involved in orientation, gathering input and feedback to enhance future programming.
  • Lead volunteer programming efforts by identifying, planning, and executing year-round volunteer opportunities for students, fostering a culture of service and community engagement.
  • Actively build relationships with community organizations to identify and develop partnerships that align with OUHSC's mission, making volunteerism accessible and impactful for both students and community partners.
  • Oversee signature events, including the HSC Big Event and All College Benefit, as well as current programs such as the Fall Food Drive and Adopt-a-Patient, ensuring smooth coordination, maximum student involvement, and community impact.
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of volunteer programs and events, using feedback and data to improve future programming.
  • Assess current volunteer programming and propose new initiatives to expand and enrich the volunteerism experience for all OUHSC students
  • Plan and coordinate ConnectU orientations with the College or Dentistry and College of Medicine (PA).
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
