UH Lake West Medical Center features 24/7 emergency services, advanced clinical and surgical care, outpatient services, physician offices and more. Lake West has provided compassionate care to western Lake County and its surrounding communities for over 60 years.

A Brief Overview
Works under the direction of a responsible RN to provide safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients and families in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and/or sustain optimal health status.

What You Will Do

  • Direct patient care delivery (includes ADL's, hygiene measures, select treatments, patient/family education, discharge preparation)
  • Communication and documentation of interventions and observations
  • Participation in quality improvement process
  • Involved in learning and self-improvement
  • Initiates and maintains a positive relationship with patients/customers and coworkers
  • Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients/customers.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Current NA II opportunities exist across UH Lake West Medical Center including:

  • Emergency


  • Float Pool

  • General Acute Care (Medical/Surgical)

  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

  • Monitor Care Unit (MCU)

  • Operative Services

  • Step Down


Qualifications

Education Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in an accredited professional A.D.N. nursing program with satisfactory academic record (Required) and
  • (BSN) Bachelor s Degree in Nursing Current enrollment with satisfactory academic record (Preferred)

Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency)
  • Completion of an appropriate clinical rotation including patient care activities, including ambulating, transferring, bathing & grooming. (Required proficiency)
  • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (ie stethoscope, thermometers, glucometers, and electronic monitoring devices). (Required proficiency)
  • Excellent communication skills. (Required proficiency)
