Position OverviewProfessor Angie Hendershot is looking for a highly motivated undergraduate student interested in assisting on research about digital and social media use among early career first-generation college graduates. The student is expected to assist with creating written transcripts of interviews conducted by Prof. Hendershot and supporting communication to recruit and prepare additional research participants, including identifying social media and other online communities that reach the target participant demographics and sharing further details and consent form links with interested potential participants. Specific responsibilities will depend upon the interests and experience of the student. This is a flexible hourly position(s) running from 06/01/2025 to 08/01/2025.Job Description100% - Research support. Required Qualifications
  1. Completion of ethical human subject research CITI certification prior to work beginning.
  2. Good organizational and project management skills as demonstrated by application materials.
  3. Detail orientation as demonstrated by application materials.
  4. Strong grammar as demonstrated by application materials.
  5. Punctuation as demonstrated by application materials.
  6. Spelling as demonstrated by application materials.
  7. Keyboarding skills as demonstrated by application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Interest in digital communications research on financial literacy, social media, and/or first-generation populations as demonstrated in application materials.
  2. Access to and agility with a variety of social media platforms, including Instagram and LinkedIn as demonstrated in application materials.
  3. Experience with Dedoose or similar qualitative research systems as demonstrated in application materials.
Position RequirementsDuring the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).Employment Conditions(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.

(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position.
