Position OverviewThe position will involve a variety of tasks to support the operation of the senior chemical engineering laboratory. In includes equipment maintenance activities, equipment testing, lab organization, updating inventory, making shopping lists, updating and organizing equipment documentation, and other tasks/activities as required. During the summer the student will also provide support activities for the operation of a summer research program (REU program). Job Description60% - Laboratory support duties such equipment testing, calibration, maintenance
30% - Administrative tasks such updating and organizing equipment documentation.
10% - Other duties as assigned by supervisor.Required Qualifications
- During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
Preferred Qualifications
- Chemical Engineering student.
- Prior laboratory experience as shown in application materials.
- Aptitude and curiosity about working with lab equipment.
