Job Description 70% Research Activities Working with faculty and staff mentors, students will engage in research activities such as: Identifying best practices that are related to character development at universities and at KU Collecting information related to examplars of IRISE values at KU and documenting the impact of their work Conducting focus groups with students Conducting literature reviews on character development and values education 30% Regular Meetings Students will be expected to attend regular meetings with others working on the project to discuss insights and propose ideas for a larger initiative at KU that addresses the purpose of the grant. Required Qualifications Must be available to attend in-person meetings that will take place 1 or 2 Friday mornings a month from January 24 through May 2, 2025. Must be an active student, undergraduate or graduate, enrolled in at least 6 hours for Spring 2025 Able to work approximately 3-4 hours per week. Ability to work collaboratively as demonstrated by prior work or reference check Interest in the topics of character development and values formation as evidenced in your cover letter. During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments) Preferred Qualifications Completed course work or other background in ethics, character development, or values formation
