Nature & Purpose of Position:The photographer is responsible for representing the SHSU Campus Recreation brand through visual images that will be used in publications, advertising, website, and social media platforms. The photographer provides marketing support by photographing live events and staged shoots. This position is also responsible for editing photographs and assisting with general marketing support.
Other Requirements for the Position:Responsibilities:
- Photographing activities relating to Campus Recreation
- Importing and organizing photos after shoots
- Finalizing images in Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom/Lightroom Classic
- Ability to be artistic while at the same time creating professional photos
- Ability to attend Campus Rec events after typical work hours and on weekends.
- Attend monthly staff meetings; trainings/in-services when necessary
- Adhere to departmental guidelines and policies
- Sports knowledge preferred
- Performing the duties of the marketing ambassador when needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Be efficient in the use of DSLR camera
- Show sufficient sports or movement-based photographing skills
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom or Aperture
- Have most evenings open
- Communicate with Marketing Supervisor and co-workers effectively
- Team player
