Nature & Purpose of Position:The main idea of the work is to propose a cooling solution for heat-generating volumes. The most famous application of this kind of study is to cool down computer chips, this is an important problem because the number of calculations per second (computer clock) that a computer can perform is directly related to heat generation. This is becoming even more important now with the advances of AI, as more and more heating solutions to cool down CPUs are getting more interest. The work consists of numerical and experimental analysis using geometries generated in SolidWorks. The physical geometries will be tested in terms of temperature distribution, and sensors like thermocouples and thermal cameras will be used. Numerical analysis will be conducted using Ansys. Therefore, prior Solidworks knowledge is critical. Students who have completed the Applied Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics and/or HVAC courses are preferred. Strong math skills are preferred.
Other Requirements for the Position:Background in Solidworks (Combine features knowledge is a plus), Excel is a must. Please submit a paragraph explaining your previous experience using SolidWorks and Excel.
