Job Description:
The Technicians are an integral part of our Maintenance team. Their experience, practical knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving skills will ensure that the aircraft are maintained in an airworthy and dispatch ready status at all times.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree strongly preferred, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent a plus
- A minimum of 5 years direct Structures Maintenance experience and training on F-16 aircraft.
Certifications/Licenses:
- FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license/certification strongly preferred but not required.
- FCC license preferred but not required.
Skills and Qualification:
- Proven track record of success working on complex assignments requiring considerable judgment, initiative and technical/specialized knowledge.
- Able to work well in a team and within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook).
Essential Duties:
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs to assigned aircraft as directed.
- Read and interpret schematics, engineering drawings, and other technical directives.
- Remove and replace structural components and fabricate replacement parts as needed.
- Perform major and minor structural repairs in accordance with applicable guidance.
- Fully proficient in use of precision measuring devices to determine serviceability on aircraft and aircraft components.
- Fully proficient in use of structures equipment common to an Air Force sheet metal and machining back shop.
- Carry out maintenance, repair, modification and inspection of the company aircraft as detailed in the company maintenance operations manual.
- Ensures all tools and equipment are accounted for prior to and at work stoppage/completion in accordance with FOD (foreign object damage) principles.
- Provide line maintenance, line servicing and inspection level maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Ensure the work accomplished on any aircraft or component is in compliance with:
- Applicable airworthiness standards and OEM instructions.
- Company Policies and Procedures.
- Regulated safety standards.
- Ensure that all replacement parts are inspected, eligible, and properly certified prior to installation.
- Ensure that removed parts are properly tagged and routed to quarantine.
- Complete and certify work reports for all work accomplished on the aircraft.
- Follow company procedures as per the maintenance operations manual using safe work practices.
- Carry out both line and heavy maintenance activities in accordance with operational standards.
- Carry out Independent Checks when authorized as per company policies and procedures.
- Carry out Receiving Inspections when authorized, as per company policies and procedures.
- Work in compliance with all applicable Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) acts and regulations, including following safe work practices and procedures and using safeguards and personal protective equipment, as necessary and when required; and reporting any hazards or potential safety risks (such as unsafe situations and activities) to a supervisor immediately.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
