As a Ben's Structural Engineer:
You will be responsible for designing and developing steel-related concepts for construction projects, adhering to all safety regulations and industry standards, using Telka 3-D Modeling Software.
Hours: Our team's schedule is Monday thru Friday, during daytime office hours - between 6am and 6pm (ending at 3pm on Fridays).
We offer flexibility with starting and ending times each day so you can find a routine that works best for you.
This is an in-office position
Job Duties: - Performs structural analyses to determine load capacities, stress factors, and structural integrity, adhering to established specifications.
- Develop detailed structural designs for steel frameworks, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Uses design software (Tekla Structures) and drawing tools to accurately render and communicate designs, design specifications, and prepare detailed technical reports.
- Ensure all designs and practices comply with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of structural steel components and project progression.
- Ensure efficiency and timeliness of projects, reviewing and making recommendations for projects and processes.
- Create an optimal rhythm of client communication to address project requirements and resolve technical challenges.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress, address and resolve any discrepancies related to structural steel.
Position Requirements - Bachelors degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program required.
- 4+ years of experience focused on Structural Engineering.
- Lice nsure as professional engineer (PE) required.
- Maintain a valid drivers license and have a satisfactory driving record.
- Predictable and reliable transportation for daily commute to our Waite Park, MN office.
- Thorough understanding of structural engineering principles, practices, and tools relating to structural steel standards (AISC, etc.).
- Proficient in computer-assisted design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analytical software. Experience with Tekla Structures a plus.
- Ability to interpret structural drawings regarding structural steel and basic understanding of steel erection.
- Thorough understanding of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction or repair of structures.
- Ability to be analytical, identify and solve complex problems, and work independently.
- Extremely detail-oriented and accurate with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
