- W2 Contract, 18 months (Possible Extension)
- This position is onsite in Byron, IL and other Midwest nuclear facilities.
- The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8 AM-4:30 PM.
- Local candidates preferred
Overview
Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer to author and develop design change packages and provide design engineering support for nuclear power plant refueling outages.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering.
- 4 years of experience or more (negotiable).
- Experience in Structural Design Engineering for industrial plants.
- Ability to obtain and retain unescorted nuclear power plant access.
- Ability to obtain and retain radiological worker qualifications.
- Provided designs for piping, motors, structures, transformers, or heavy equipment.
- Facilitated structural issues such as equipment vibration or piping vibrations.
- Desire previous experience with Extended or Stretch Type Power Uprates (EPU or SPU), Turbine Replacements (Turbine Retrofits), Nuclear Main Generator Replacements, or Steam Generator Replacements.
- Previous experience with power plant systems analysis (e.g., containment validations, reactor embrittlement, license extensions, vibration analysis & mitigation).
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Master of Science in Structural Engineering.
