The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Structural & Payload Design Engineer located in Huntsville, AL, to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in structural design and payload integration, with a strong proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, specifically NX. The candidate will also demonstrate expertise in navigating Product Data Management (PDM) systems, including Windchill and TeamCenter. This role requires a solid understanding of creating 2-D drawings from 3-D models and developing comprehensive 3-D Model Based Definition (MBD) files. Position Responsibilities: Develop, maintain and modify basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
Perform tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
Assist with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals
Support investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
Design and analyze structural components and payload systems for aerospace applications.
Develop and maintain Model Based Definition (MBD) files to support manufacturing and assembly processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity and compliance with specifications
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in structural design and engineering practices
Work under general supervision This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active) Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience)
3+ years of experience using UG NX8 or above
3+ years of experience with 2D drawing interpretation & review, and/or update/revision experience
2+ years of experience using Windchill (a Product Data Management (PMD) tool) Relocation:
