Job DescriptionObjectives:
- The Strategic Initiatives Lead will play a pivotal role in supporting the Chief of Staff in the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). This role serves as a key player in driving cross-functional coordination, preparing executive-level communications and presentations, and leading critical strategic projects that align with Takeda's mission and goals.
- As part of the Global Medical Chief of Staff Office, the Strategic Initiatives Lead will interface with senior leaders across the organization, including members of the Takeda Executive Team (TET). The ideal candidate has exceptional communication skills, strong project management capabilities, and proven experience handling high-impact deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
- Leads and manages initiatives to advance the Global Medical strategic vision and embed the Global-LOC operating model.
- Provides support to the Chief of Staff, Head of Global Medical Business Excellence (GMBE), and the Global Medical Leadership Team
Accountabilities:
- Lead special projects and strategic initiatives on behalf of the CMO and Chief of Staff, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Act as a project manager for high-priority initiatives, driving execution, tracking progress, and delivering results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, fostering alignment on projects that support Takeda's medical, scientific, and operational excellence.
- Build engaging, visually compelling, and data-driven presentations for senior leaders, including the TET and CEO, that support strategic initiatives.
- Drives transparency to senior leadership through executive reporting under the direction of the Chief of Staff, & Head of Global Medical Business Excellence
- Collaborate closely with different departments to compile accurate and meaningful data for executive communications, analyses, and presentations.
- Serve as a liaison between the CMO office and other internal teams, ensuring seamless collaboration on shared goals and deliverables.
- Represent the Chief of Staff Office in meetings and discussions as required, providing strategic input and ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
- Develop and maintain project plans and timelines, ensuring high-impact deliverables remain on track.
- Manage competing priorities effectively, ensuring quality and consistency across all outputs.
- Provide input into operational enhancements that improve productivity and coordination within the Chief of Staff Office.

Education, Behavioral Competencies, and Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PhD, etc.) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in strategic initiatives, communications, consulting, or related roles within healthcare, biotechnology, or pharmaceuticals.
- Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills; experience drafting executive-level content is essential.
- Proven experience creating presentations for senior executives, using tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Thinkcell, etc.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize technical or operational data into clear narratives.
- Adept at stakeholder management and building relationships with senior leaders and diverse teams.
Desired:
- Solid understanding of the drug development process and lifecycle management
- Experience working in a multinational setting with international affiliates
- Proven track record of influencing throughout the matrix, leading through ambiguity, and working diplomatically through conflict.
Additional Information:
Requires approximately 10% travel, including overnight and international travel to other Takeda sites and meetings with external partners.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$137,000.00 - $215,270.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives.
