Store ManagerReports to: Regional Supervisor or Area Manager
The Store Manager is responsible for driving sales goals to maximize store profitability. Additionally, they oversee the hiring and training of staff, ensuring competence and adherence to store procedures. The Store Manager collaborates with the credit department and manages all store employees on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Maximizing Profitability: Implement strategies to achieve monthly sales quotas and maintain acceptable expenditure levels. Manage inventory levels and implement the Business Builder Program to enhance sales. Follow up on online coupons and credit applications, maintaining all three CCO numbers.
- Resolving Customer Complaints: Communicate directly with customers lodging complaints, following outlined procedures. Maintain records of pending complaints and resolve them efficiently.
- Overseeing Store Personnel Performance: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly manager responsibilities. Address performance issues and formulate solutions to enhance departmental performance. Conduct disciplinary actions and review credit applications.
- Controlling Expenditures: Manage payroll budgets, operational expenses, and vendor chargebacks. Regularly review controlled expenses to ensure competitive pricing.
- Determining Merchandise Selection: Write purchase orders and review requisitions uploaded to Central. Monitor backorders and oversee transfers to other stores.
- Overseeing Store Security: Conduct daily inspections of store and warehouse for merchandise storage. Perform spot category inventories periodically and count cash drawers monthly.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Update tags for new line-up prices and remove drop tags at the end of promotions.
- Conduct weekly store meetings and post corporate directives on bulletin boards.
- Sign and review documents listed on daily reports, invoices, and accounts receivable reports.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Regional Supervisor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear frequently.
- Regular use of hands to handle objects and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to visually inspect merchandise and delivery documents.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: - High school graduate required; college experience preferred.
- Self-motivated individual with strong supervisory and disciplinary skills.
- Basic computer skills required for document review.
- Commitment to enforcing company procedures and policies.
- Extensive retail experience, preferably in the furniture/appliance industry.
- Demonstrated ability to perform retail duties and progressively assume higher responsibilities.
