Role Summary

The Store Leader at PetSmart oversees all aspects of safety, customer experiences, daily operations, financial performance, and human resources. This leader guides the team to enhance the company culture and ensure exceptional service to pet parents while effectively executing daily tasks to meet the organization's mission and goals.

Main Responsibilities
  • People Leadership: Lead recruitment, hiring, coaching, and performance assessments for all associates; cultivate an open-door culture; utilize feedback tools to improve the workplace.
  • Store Experience: Maintain standard store operations to constantly ensure a positive experience for pets, pet parents, and associates alike; manage escalated customer concerns with care.
  • Business Management: Drive corporate strategies and profitability goals; analyze reporting metrics to communicate with the team and create improvement plans; manage store expenses and payroll efficiently.
Qualifications
  • 4-6 years of retail leadership or applicable customer service experience
  • Availability for full-time hours with a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Proficient with computer applications
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to stay composed under pressure
  • Meticulous organizational abilities
Supervisory Responsibility
  • Leads associates, including team leaders and staff members, ensuring adherence to company policies.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • May encounter a busy environment filled with pets and equipment
