Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Store Development Project Manager to join our Development team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced individual to join the development team of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream as the company embarks on its next stage of major growth.

The ideal candidate is someone who is experienced in food service site development, is organized, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment (and loves ice cream.). Our Store Development Project Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Store Development. While we are based out of Brooklyn, NY, this role has the opportunity to be hybrid.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate with the Real Estate, Legal & Design teams to review Landlord/Tenant work letters, signage and general lease exhibits.
  • Review and ensure Landlord tenant criteria and construction portions of the lease are thoroughly evaluated and communicated to internal and external business partners.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with external suppliers & vendors: millwork, signage, tile, lighting, and specialty vendors.
  • Identify new & leading methods to support the construction evolution of our brand, while implementing cost savings programs, improving overall construction methods, procurement, and/or vendor selection.
  • Accountable to capital budgets for construction related projects.
  • Prepare individual project cost estimate(s) utilizing historic building construction cost data, contractor/vendor quotations, etc.
  • Ensures new construction and remodel projects obtain necessary permits and variances to maintain ongoing compliance with all state and local building and zoning laws and codes; requests variances and/or exemptions from zoning laws on the company's behalf, as necessary
  • Manage the compilation, preparation, and execution of construction contracts and change orders.
  • Manage communications on a regular and timely basis, ensuring that all project participants are informed of project status, problems, and required actions.
  • Performs periodic on-site evaluations of construction in progress; monitors and manages third party consultants, contractor schedule and quality of work completed; identifies and communicates substandard workmanship and/or scheduling issues to contractor for immediate resolution
  • Manage the bid phase: review and negotiate proposals, prepare general contractor bid leveling analysis, ensure all required materials and resources are available and within budgetary guidelines, and ensure all proposals are executed and returned to the vendors.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • A passion for brand design & ice cream
  • A strong customer service attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
  • A desire to learn, grow, and develop professionally
  • At least 7 to 10 years of experience in a similar role supporting development and/or construction activities. At least 3 to 5 years of those years in restaurant development.
  • Very strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Strong working knowledge of ProCore, Smartsheet and Excel; experience with G Suite (Google Drive, Docs, etc.) is a plus
  • Available to travel.
Compensation & Benefits

$110 000.00 annual compensation depending on experience, paid weekly

Salary Range

$110,000-$130,000 USD
