Overview
Bowhead is seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Storage Administrator to join our team supporting the Program Office for NSWC Corona in Norco, California.
The Storage Administrator will work directly with the client analyzing complex and unique technical support assignments and lead or collaborate with system administrators, cybersecurity personnel, and program analysts within an agile environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with NetApp storage systems, Rubrik backup solutions, Varonis data security platforms, and a deep understanding of SSD and Flash-based storage architecture.
Responsibilities
• Configure, manage, and monitor enterprise storage systems (NetApp) for performance, scalability, and availability.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions using Rubrik.
• Monitor and enforce data access and security controls using Varonis and related audit tools.
• Optimize performance of storage environments using SSD/Flash-based technologies.
• Maintain documentation of all configurations and changes in accordance with Technical Orders (TOs) and DoD standards.
• Support RMF compliance, STIG implementation, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, networking, and server teams to support mission needs.
• Provide Tier III support for storage-related incidents and escalations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of experience in systems or storage administration, with 3+ years in a DoD environment.
• Hands-on experience with NetApp ONTAP administration, storage provisioning, and replication technologies.
• Working knowledge of Rubrik for enterprise backup and recovery.
• Experience with Varonis for data classification, access control, and user behavior analytics.
• Deep understanding of SSD and Flash storage systems, including performance optimization.
• Familiarity with TO documentation and compliance-driven environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in secure, time-sensitive settings.
• Security+ CE
Preferred Qualifications:
• NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) or similar storage certifications
• Rubrik Certified Systems Engineer (RCSE) or relevant vendor certifications
• Experience with hybrid cloud storage and data migration strategies
• Familiarity with eMASS, RMF, and NIST 800-53 compliance frameworks
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the minimum Secret level.
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
