JOB SUMMARY: Gault Family Companies is seeking a results-driven Stone Yard Supervisor/Dispatcher to lead daily operations at our Seaview Bridgeport Yard. This hands-on role oversees dispatching, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and customer service, while ensuring the yard remains safe, clean, and well-organized. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, exceptional communication, and advanced mathematical skills to drive efficiency, accuracy, and outstanding customer experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean yard and facility environment.
- Manage incoming and outgoing shipments with precision-verifying destinations, routing, rates, schedules, and documentation.
- Monitor stock levels daily; forecast material needs and proactively place orders.
- Oversee inventory rotation to reduce waste and improve turnaround.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, damage reports, shortages, or mis-shipments.
- Utilize strong mathematical and analytical skills to ensure inventory accuracy, optimize delivery loads, and control costs.
- Track and analyze inventory metrics, delivery timelines, and yard productivity to inform operational decisions.
- Maintain clean, functional equipment; schedule regular maintenance and ensure logs are up to date.
- Support the scale house during peak periods or as needed.
- Set clear expectations, provide day-to-day supervision, and coach team members to ensure high performance and accountability.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Respond quickly and professionally to customer inquiries or issues, ensuring complete satisfaction.
- Ensure all activities comply with Federal and State safety regulations.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices through workshops, networking, and ongoing learning.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Class D, B, or CDL license preferred
- Forklift certification and experience operating loaders preferred
- 1-2 years of dispatching experience preferred
- Background in masonry/stone materials or construction supply is a plus
- Strong math and analytics background-ability to work with measurements, conversions, weights, volumes, and cost analysis
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Ability to work in indoor and outdoor conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, squat and sit for extended periods of time, and perform physical duties that require use of arms and legs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Driving a vehicle; getting in and out of truck.
