Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking
Steward/Prep Cook to support our kitchen operations. This dual-role position is responsible for maintaining kitchen cleanliness, supporting food preparation, and ensuring kitchen equipment is clean and ready for use. The ideal candidate is a team player with a strong work ethic and a passion for food service.
Key Responsibilities:Steward Duties: - Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils by hand or using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and equipment.
- Dispose of trash and recyclables in a safe and timely manner.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are properly stored and stocked.
- Follow health and safety regulations in all cleaning procedures.
Prep Cook Duties: - Assist with basic food preparation tasks (e.g., chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, portioning food).
- Ensure prep station is set up and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Label and store food items according to safety and hygiene guidelines.
- Assist chefs and cooks with other tasks as needed during service.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.
Qualifications: - Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Must be able to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods.
Working Conditions: - Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, steam, and cleaning chemicals.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
