We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified CPD Technician for Endoscope Reprocessing to join our client in Philadelphia, PA, 19104 . The ideal candidate will have at least two (2) years of experience with scope reprocessing and possess a Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) certification from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA).

Position Details:
Job Title: CPD Technician - Endoscope Reprocessing

Duration: Minimum of 3 months, with potential for extension and temp-to-perm opportunities
Shift: 2nd Shift (4:00 PM - 12:30 AM)
Work Week: Monday - Friday (Possible Weekends)

Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED - Required
2+ years of inpatient hospital experience - Required
Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) from HSPA - Required

Additional certifications (any of the following):
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)

Job Summary: The primary responsibility of this role is to provide on-site support for the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes and related devices and equipment. This position ensures that all reusable surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment are properly decontaminated, inspected, assembled, packaged, sterilized, stored, inventoried, and appropriately tracked in compliance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Functions (80% of duties):
Reprocess endoscopes according to manufacturer IFUs, AAMI, SGNA, AORN, and/or CDC standards and recommendations.
Maintain inventory of endoscopic and reprocessing equipment and supplies.
Perform safety checks to verify proper equipment functionality.
Ensure compliance with documentation requirements.
Clean, disinfect, or calibrate scopes or other endoscopic instruments per manufacturer recommendations and Infection Control guidelines.
Maintain and verify optimal functionality of endoscopic and reprocessing equipment, coordinating repairs as needed.
Understand and articulate department policies and procedures, referencing and applying AAMI standards in scope reprocessing.

Occasional Functions (20% of duties):
Ensure processing and assembly of medical supplies, equipment, and instrumentation meets established productivity measures (minimum 80% average efficiency).
Operate automated washers, cart washers, ultrasonic washers, automated endoscope reprocessors, and sterilizers in compliance with manufacturer instructions and department procedures.
Transport soiled medical instrumentation/devices per department protocol.
Inspect instrumentation and equipment for cleanliness, defects, and proper working conditions prior to packaging.
Maintain 100% accuracy in processing complete instrument trays.
Use the SPM Instrument Tracking System proficiently for all work assignments.
Ensure proper high-level disinfection/sterilization (HLD/S) methods are used and validated with the appropriate documentation.
Distribute HLD/S items in a manner that maintains their integrity, documenting as per department or hospital protocol.
Ensure patient-specific case cart needs are met, providing the correct items for the correct times.
Maintain consistent and effective communication within the team.
Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions.
Adhere to mandated safety programs and dress code policies.

Additional Responsibilities:
Adhere to internal and external emergency plans.
Ensure compliance with all relevant departmental, hospital, and regulatory safety standards.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.38 - $33.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:
8 hour shift
Evening shift
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
