JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Sterile Processing Technician, Certified in our Duke Aesthetics Center & Duke Otolaryngology of Cary clinic located in Cary, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team to provide direct and indirect care to patients.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleans, decontaminates, and disinfects scope
  • Cleans, decontaminates, and disinfects instruments
  • Assembles trays and equipment for processing
  • Appropriately process scopes and instruments
  • Promotes best practice by demonstrating quality care of the sterile processing environment
  • Performs assigned duties to maintain unit in a state of survey readiness and maintain quality initiatives. For example: quality control measures, emergency equipment checks, and department cleanliness.
  • Utilizes the appropriate instrument tracking system, sterilization tracking system, and sterilization load documentation
  • Adheres to unit programs to support patient care, such as; maintaining a quiet environment, professionalism, and patient centered customer service
  • Notify appropriate leaders for equipment or instruments in need of repair or replacement. Maintain an accurate log for equipment or instruments out for repair.
  • Maintain a clean an orderly processing area

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certification required as CSPDT (CBSPD) or CRCST (HSPA).

The schedule for this position is day shifts.
