VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS), an industry leader in correctional healthcare, has an opening for a Statewide Chief Psychologist for our Regional Office in Dover, Delaware.

We are seeking a highly qualified Statewide Chief Psychologist to assist in monitoring all aspects of behavioral healthcare services. While reporting to the Statewide Behavioral Health Director, this position has authority, responsibility, and accountability for effecting and monitoring compliance of behavioral health services with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, state, or facility contract requirements, and ACA/NCCHC standards. This position coordinates effective administration of psychological services as further described below and provides administrative guidance and support to site behavioral health staff and support of regional management. This position, per the Delaware Department of Corrections contracts, requires fifty (50) percent of direct patient care including but not exclusively, carrying a caseload, managing difficult clients, completing various patient assessments and psychological evaluations, assisting with QMHP duties as assigned, etc.

STATEWIDE CHIEF PSYCHOLOGIST MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a Licensed Psychologist in the state of DE
Must possess at least 3 years of clinical behavioral health experience within a correctional facility
Must possess experience in suicide assessment/prevention and crisis assessment/intervention
Possess ability to engage in complex interpersonal interactions, multitask, and analyze complex cases
Experience in healthcare administration preferred

STATEWIDE CHIEF PSYCHOLOGIST PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with underserved populations
Experience with electronic health records (EHRs)

STATEWIDE CHIEF PSYCHOLOGIST ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reviews written summaries of patient history, diagnoses, and course of treatment
Oversees the quality and effectiveness of behavioral healthcare delivery to the patient population
Conducts periodic audits and documents the quality of behavioral healthcare according to contract or VitalCore requirements
Conducts on-site visits with behavioral health teams assessing overall service delivery. Guides teams in process improvement at least annually, either on-site or through tele-video
Reviews results of VitalCore QAPI and clinical programs surveys with regard to behavioral health services and provides oversight in the development, implementation, and follow-up monitoring processes
Monitors outcomes under evidence-bases clinical guidelines
Focuses on interpretation of data and confirms development of satisfactory and appropriate action plans
Maintains availability for any ACA/NCCHC accreditation visits for assigned region
Participates on committees/treatment teams as assigned
Participates in the development of onboarding and training materials for behavioral health processes and workflows. Assists in providing new employee orientation training for VitalCore employees, as well as trainings required by the DOC for its employees, and other statewide training as identified as a need
Provide direct patient care fifty percent (50%) of the time which may include carrying a caseload at a site, providing services for more difficult clients, completing evaluations and assessments as required, assisting with the assessment of patients on suicide precautions, or filling in for site clinical leadership if the need arises.

The successful candidate will have excellent clinical and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. They will be able to effectively communicate with staff, patients, and other stakeholders, and will be committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. Additionally, they will have strong organizational and problem-solving skills and will be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
