MECHANICAL ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION Job Title: Start-Up/ CX Technician Department: Start-Up & Commissioning Grade: High level Journeyman or Master Supervisor: Start-Up/CX Superintendent $30 - $45 per hour Full-time Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Paid holidays Paid time off Paid training 401(k) POSITION SUMMARY MEC2 is seeking a skilled Service & Start-Up/CX Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing commercial HVAC-R equipment. This role will involve start-up, commissioning, adjusting, repair, modification, and replacement of HVAC equipment, including inter-connecting piping, electrical, and control wiring. Communication, proper documentation, and file management skills are vital for this position. The Service & Start-up/CX Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of HVAC systems across various projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to read wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to perform necessary work Conduct service, repair, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC equipment and systems. Perform installations of HVAC equipment. Conduct start-ups on all new and potentially old equipment depending on the nature of the project Commission equipment and document all findings. Assist with quality control of projects across all MEC2 departments. Accurately estimate time and material requirements for repairs and replacements Maintain a complete set of necessary tools applicable to the trade and demonstrate proficiency in their use. Follow all safety practices and adhere to safety policies ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for company assets used on job site Hold's a valid driver's license Make purchases at local supply houses following company policy. Complete neat, detailed, and accurate start up and commissioning reports. Conduct self-study (reading, research, and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency. Utilize software such as PlanGrid to find project related documents and upload documents. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Technical school graduate or successful completion of an HVAC Apprenticeship Program. HAVC Journeyman and/or Masters license Universal CFC Certification. Minium of 5 years of commercial HVAC experience at the Journeyman level. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of HVAC fundamentals including basic thermodynamics, psychometrics, and basic electricity. Proficiency in performing repairs and diagnostics on various commercial HVAC equipment. Ability to understand written documents related to work. Logical reasoning skills to identify solutions to problems. Proficiency in mathematical calculations.
