Staff Software Engineer to come in and work on their application stack, including building and designing APIs. They want someone that has worked on and built customer-facing features, as this is what they will be doing here.
The company is revolutionising workplace safety by improving safety and operational efficiency across industries like manufacturing, logistics, and retail. Their technology integrates AI-powered insights for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management, allowing companies to optimize workforce safety, reduce risks, and improve operational workflows.

Responsibilities:- Collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams to gain insights into user needs and align technology solutions accordingly
- Drive engineering initiatives through the full lifecycle-from planning and development to deployment and ongoing support
- Investigate, propose, and architect backend systems and APIs tailored to both customer requirements and internal workflows
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs using technologies like Go, Node.js, Python, gRPC/ConnectRPC, and AWS
- Design and manage data structures and storage solutions, leveraging tools such as PostgreSQL, Protobuf, and AWS
- Support the growth of fellow engineers through mentorship, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing
Qualifications:- 8+ years of hands-on experience building scalable, data-intensive backend services and APIs
- 3+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to lead with a customer-first mindset and deliver impactful technical solutions
- Strong software engineering and programming skills, ideally in Go, C , Java, or other typed/compiled languages
- Practical experience deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms like AWS or GCP, with a focus on cloud-native architectures
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, data storage solutions, data modeling, and indexing strategies, including their trade-offs
