Summary:
The RN, Transport will function as a team member while upholding the mission, vision and values of Cook Children's Health Care System. This person will work in collaboration with RTs and Paramedics, in providing cares to the Neonatal and Pediatric population in all modes of transport, including ground ambulance, rotor wing and fixed wing aircraft. This person must possess critical thinking skills while practicing sound judgement throughout the transport process in varied settings. The RN, Transport will be self-motivated and demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills.
Education:
- Minimum of 3 year recent Neonatal and/or Pediatric ICU and/or Pediatric Emergency Department experience or current Neonatal /Pediatric Transport experience.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or has completed requirements for BSN en-route to MSN.
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
Certification/Licensure:
- Current CPR.
- Current PALS or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Current NRP or must obtain within 6 month of hire.
- Current ACLS or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Current TNCC or Department approved equivalent or must obtain within 12 months of hire.
- Current STABLE or obtain within 6 month of hire.
- Current license to practice professional Nursing in State of Texas.
- Current EMT or Paramedic license in the State of Texas or must obtain within 12 months of hire.
- Current Advanced Certification (in area of practice and/or as approved by CCMC) or must obtain within 24 months of hire.
