Job overview An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a staff nurse to join us on Ward 5 Elective Orthopaedics at The Princess Royal Hospital. This new ward provides excellent patient-centred care for patients undergoing Elective Orthopaedic surgery. We are looking to expand our team. You will be part of a team of staff working to support the patient journey throughout the Enhanced Recovery Pathway.

Main duties of the job - Ensure patients are cared for in a safe, efficient, and compassionate manner. Admit, recover, and discharge patients undergoing elective Orthopaedic surgery.
- Work with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the smooth running of the ward, maintaining high standards, effective communication, and adherence to health and safety and cleaning standards.
- Act as an accountable and professional registered adult nurse, following the NMC code.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
- Administer medication under prescription once competencies are completed.
- Monitor patients and escalate signs of deterioration promptly.
- Identify areas for quality improvement.
- Escalate concerns regarding patient care when standards are not met.
