Staff Nurse - Emergency Department

North Manchester Emergency Department is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our nursing team to work in our emergency department.

You will be well supported with career progression and learning opportunities in emergency medicine.

You will be part of a dynamic and friendly team who strive to achieve the best patient outcomes and deliver the highest standard of care to all our patients.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will assess, plan, evaluate, and deliver all relevant aspects of patient care in a caring, compassionate, and sensitive manner. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team and contribute to clinical governance. You will act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students.

The post holder will take delegated responsibility for managing the clinical team and maintaining high standards of quality patient care on a shift basis.

Person Specification Qualification
  • Degree or Diploma
  • Teaching Qualification
  • Degree level 6 study Diploma
Training and Experience
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to supervise and support junior staff
  • Experience in teaching and assessing skills
  • Awareness of clinical audit
  • Experience as a mentor/preceptor
  • Relevant area of practice experience
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of current nursing issues
  • Knowledge of clinical governance
  • IT/Word processing skills
