We provide replacement care and short stays for children from the age of 2 to 18 years across 2 bungalows, with up to 7 childrenstaying at any one time. You will be working as part of a wider team supportingchildren to live their best lives in a safe, fun, and fulfilling environment.
We provide care to service users who have complex health needs or a needfor nursing interventions (such as PEGs, Diabetes and Epilepsy). We alsosupport service users who have behaviours that may be challenging.
We are a 7-day service, and you will be working a range of shiftsincluding evenings, weekends, nights, and bank holidays. We can be flexible tomake sure this works for you. This is a full time post.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will predominantly be based in the Childrens servicebut will also be required to at times work in the Adults service and at timesmay be the sole nurse on site for both services. They would support the managerto lead the team in delivering a clinically effective service with theoverarching aim that the individuals who attend the service feel, welcome,safe, confident and a positive experience for all concerned. keen to stay, thusproviding a positive experience for all concerned.
Both services are registered with CQC, and the childrens service isregistered with Ofsted. The post holder will be required to support the managerto ensure the service meets the requirements for CQC.

Person Specification Knowledge
- Variety of evidence based clinical skills
- Understanding of evidence based nursing, multidisciplinary working, clinical governance
- Confidence to teach student nurses, patients, carers and members of the multidisciplinary team
- Current knowledge of developments in nursing and healthcare practice
- Awareness of Audit
- Understanding of learning disability, physical disability and associated healthcare needs
- Experience of Audit
Experience
- Relevant learning disability experience
- Previous experience of day to day management
- Supervision and appraisal
- Supervising junior members of staff
Qualifications
- Registered Learning Disability Nurse, Registered Nurse Mental Health or Registered General Nurse
- Current registration with the NMC
- I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer
- Accredited courses in relevant clinical area
