The Staff Statistician plays a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making and innovation across multifaceted IOPS (manufacturing) departments. This position is essential for validating, trending, and advancing manufacturing and testing processes, thereby ensuring the highest standards of operational excellence. Through expert statistical analysis and cross-functional collaboration, the Staff Statistician leads initiatives that significantly improve process efficiencies and product quality.

As a Staff Statistician, a typical day might include the following

  • Utilize advanced statistical techniques and company insights to conduct ad-hoc analyses, produce comprehensive technical reports, and effectively communicate findings to partners, including regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrate high-level proficiency in statistical software packages such as JMP, Minitab, R, or SAS, and apply diverse statistical methods including multivariate regression, equivalency testing, and experimental design.
  • Operate independently within a team environment to identify, lead, and implement strategic initiatives that drive operational improvements and innovation.
  • Facilitate and support the Statistics Training Series, providing mentorship and guidance to participants, encouraging a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Engage in root cause analysis, develop actionable strategies for process improvements, and establish proactive metrics to improve operational performance.
  • Apply risk management expertise to address technical challenges and support business objectives.
  • Potentially manage and develop a team of statisticians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

In order to be considered for this position, you must hold a Masters degree in statistics, mathematics, or a related field and

  • Principal: 8+ years of experience
  • Staff: 10+ years of experience
  • Senior Staff: 12+ years of experience
  • May consider experience in lieu of education; level decided upon completion of an interview process
