Full-Time Position

Responsibilities for Staff Development Coordinator (SDC)/Infection Preventionist:

Ensure the center has appropriate levels of staffing and nursing care at all times.

Providing education to existing staff and ensuring medical documentation and education documents are orderly filed

Running and assisting with employee training and orientation

Assisting with admissions when needed, and with the overall flow of the nursing department and units

Identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting trends in healthcare-associated infections.

Collaborate with the facility teams and individuals to implement and sustain infection prevention strategies

Ensure compliance with the facility infection prevention and control program

Provide education and participate in the quality assessment and assurance committee.

Qualifications of Staff Development Coordinator (SDC)/Infection Preventionist:

Primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine required

Must possess a current, unencumbered, active LPN or RN license in this state.

Prior Experience as a Staff Development Coordinator, or Infection Preventionist within a nursing center or healthcare setting.

Ability to build strong relationships and gain support from staff.

Associate degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology or related field. Has completed specialized training in infection prevention and control.

Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology preferred.
