Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate lawsuits to gather all relevant information and devise legal strategies for defense
- Identify potential risks to policyholders or the company
- Create and execute a suitable plan for collecting evidence and file necessary motions
- Get ready for and attend all court proceedings related to cases, including trials and arbitrations
- Regularly communicate with policyholders and claims representatives about case progress
- Prepare and present legal opinions on claims matters
- Participate in negotiation and settlement discussions with external parties
Requirements:
- Hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Member of the CA bar
- Must have first or second chair trial experience
- Must have insurance defense experience, ideally automobile, personal injury, and premises liability
- Demonstrated ability to handle a demanding workload and prioritize tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
